30% of the web population uses online coupons
An NPD Online Research report indicated that about 30% of
the web population uses online coupons. Increased awareness
is driving the interest in e-coupon usage. Fifty-nine percent
said they were aware of online coupons. The study also found
that of the 30% that used e-coupons, 39% of them had obtained
coupons online. In addition, 80% said they would increase
the usage of e-coupons.

People who earn in excess of $45,000 a year
represent 77% of coupon users.
NPD stated that "the data showed a definitive upward
trend in awareness and usage of online coupons. Companies
benefit by using a traditional brand loyalty awareness builder
while consumers benefit from the ease and customization of
the web."
Most online coupon users are between the ages of 25 - 44 (55%).
A third of the online coupon redeemers have incomes of over
$75,000, 35% between $45,000 and $75,000 and 33% earn under
$45,000. Fifty-five percent of online coupon users are female
and forty-five percent are male. The NPD coupon survey was
comprised of 3,125 respondents.

Surveys show that coupon redemptions rate is in average as
high as 8% compared to 2% without coupons.
